Why progesterone is called pregnancy maintaining hormone ??.??.??.

Dear Student, Progesterone is known as pregnancy hormone because 1. It prepares endometrium to receive and nourish an implanted fertilized egg 2. Progesterone maintains the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. 3. If pregnancy does not occur, progesterone levels will drop,thus causing menstruation. Therefore, it is known as a pregnancy hormone. Regards
