Dear Student
The rate of a reaction depends on the concentration of the reactants, temperature and catalyst. To occur a reaction reactant must be active as reactant form product so concentration of reactant is very important. Temperature and catalyst are also main factor as they have a significant role on activation energy.
Effect of concentration of reactant: When concentration of reactant is more then the rate of the reaction is also more according to La-Chatelier principle which state that reaction will shift toward where effect on equilibrium constant is minimum.
Effect of temperature: Increasing temperature increase the rate of the reaction as more reactant are activated and form product. Product only form by activated reactants
Effect of catalyst: There are two types of catalyst one is positive catalyst and another ope is negative catalyst. Positive catalyst decrease the activation energy i.e. increase the rate of the reaction . On the other hand negative catalyst increase the activation energy i.e. decrease the rate of the reaction.
