Why repairs in plant is considered as an indirect expense

Dear Student,

Indirect expenses are those which are not direct.Repairs of Plant & Machinery do not relates to production of goods in a direct manner; they are not considered in the purchase/production of goods/services. They indirectly impact the business as as whole & thus are considered as Indirect Expenses.
