Why should FPO conduct quality tests of food products periodically?

In order to curb the menace of food adulteration, the Government of India has set up a certain institution for the standardization of food, to prevent adulteration, and to maintain good quality food.

They are the following:

1. Codex Alimentarius.
2. The agmark Standards.
3. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

1. These institutions inspect the food processing industries and manufacturing.
2. If they satisfy all the standards of FPO (Food processing organization), ISI (Indian standard institution) certificates are awarded.
3. FPO should conduct quality tests periodically as it will help the organization to keep a check on the certified products that the standards are still maintained or not.
4. The regular check will also ensure that the companies will not try to remodify the products for personal profit.
5. Moreover, testing of products will ensure that adulterated food doesn't enter the markets and will not affect the citizen's health.
