Why should we not burn plastic items?

Burning of plastic is dangerous to our health and the environment. The reason why plastic materials are not supposed to burn are:

(i) They do not burn completely easily.

(ii) They produce toxic gases when burnt.

(iii) Toxic gases lead to many respiratory diseases.

(iv) They cause soil pollution.

(v) Burnt pieces of plastic may be eaten by cows which might choke them to death.
