Dear student,
Temperature is very important abiotic factors for plants and animals. Temperature varies from pole to equator. Temperature mostly affects cold blooded animals as their body cannot adapt to varying temperature. Eurythermal and stenothermal organism can survive in wide range and narrow range of temperature respectively. Some animals are also adapted to very high temperature. Plants are also affected by temperature because increase in temperature leads to more transpiration through leaves and stems. Different metabolic processes requiring enzymes are also affected by varying temperature. Therefore we can conclude that temperature is ecologically relevant abiotic factor.
