Viruses multiply only in living cells. The host cell must provide the energy and synthetic machinery and the low molecular-weight precursors for the synthesis of viral proteins and nucleic acids. Viruses depend on host cell for replication (reproduction) which takes control over the host cells by multiplying and affects the immunity of the host individual. Unlike bacterial infections, viral attacks are not easily curable because it leads to certain types of symptoms and not a particular infection. e.g AIDS (Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome).
Once a person is affected by virus the only option left is to prevent the further spreading of virus cell. Antiviral medicines are available to block the virus from further attacks .They attack the virus at various life stages. e.g. Acyclovir, Zidovudine.
Certain vaccinations are available to protect us from viral attacks like polio virus vaccination.
