Given, at a speed of 60 km/h a car takes 4 hours to cover a certain distance.

Also, as the speed increases, the time taken to cover the same distance would reduce. Hence, they are inversely related.

Let the speed of the car be x km/h when it has to cover the distance in 3 hours.
According to inverse proportion,
60x=34x=60×43

x=80

Hence, the required speed is 80 km/h.
