It is a network of personal and social relations, not established or required by the formal organisation but arising spontaneously as people associate with each other. The standard of behaviour evolves from group norms in an informal organisation and communication is free and independent. It does not have a definite form or structure. E.g. Chit chatting in a canteen, a formation of drama group by employees, etc.
