With the help of examples, distinguish between transparent, translucent and opaque objects.

Open in App
Solution

  1. Transparent objects are those objects which allow the light to pass through them completely. So the object is easily and clearly visible. E.g.: glass, water, etc.
  2. Translucent objects are those objects that only allow the light to pass through them partially. So we are able to see things but less clearly. E.g.: greased paper, butter paper, wax paper, etc.
  3. Opaque objects are those objects which do not allow light to pass through them. So we cannot see anything through them. E.g.:cardboard, plywood desk, etc.
