Question

would the insulin isolated from animals have no side effect on humans?

Open in App
Solution

Insulin structure varies slightly in different organisms. It causes difference in insulin strength that is the ability to control carbohydrate metabolism in liver cells. The slight differences in human insulin and and animal insulin results in mild side effects but there are no obvious, serious effects. Insulin from pigs is most closer to human insulin in structure and thus was used medically.
