Stages in human evolution:

i) Dryopithecus-

1. It is the earliest known ancestor of man.
2. Found in some parts of Africa.

ii) Ramapithecus-

1. Changes in teeth- Thick tooth enamel and shorter canines.
2. Uses hands for food and defense.

iii) Australopithecus-

1. First discovered in South Africa.
2. Walked erect and used stones as weapons.

iv) Homo erectus-

1. Homo erectus was found in Java.
2. The missing link between the man and ape.

v) Homo sapiens-

1. Homo sapiens was first discovered in Europe and were named Cro-Magnon.
2. They have 1350cc brain capacity and have knowledge about hunting.
