The modern method of irrigation helps to use water economically.

It consists of two types: sprinkler system and drip system.

Sprinkler system: This system is used on uneven land. It consists of a perpendicular pipe which has rotating nozzles on top and it is joined to the main pipeline. Water escapes from the rotating nozzle when water is passed through the main pipeline. The water gets sprinkled on the crops.

Drip system: The water falls drop by drop at the position of the roots so it is called as a drip system. Water is not wasted in this system. It is the best technique for watering fruit plants, gardens and tree.
