Open in App
Solution

Instructions: The answer to this question can be broken into 3 main parts:
  1. Explain the situations during the medieval period in Europe.
  2. Explain the changes that took place during the period of the Renaissance.
Solution:
  • The fine arts, literature, and history in the Medieval period were centred on religious ideology.
  • Most of the literature was written in Greek and Latin languages.
  • By the dawn of the 13th century, Latin and Greek gave way to regional languages like English, Spanish, and French.
  • Artists and writers started shifting towards the theme of human life. The literature now was no longer confined to religion and philosophy.
  • Corresponding changes took place in other art forms as well.
  • This concept of delving into the different aspects of human life is known as humanism.
  • It promoted the spirit of inquiry and reasoning. Thus, a new awakening in all spheres of human life became visible in Europe and it is known as the Renaissance.
