Other dynasties (1 mark)
Palegaras and Palepattu (1 mark)
Solution:
The history of the Bengaluru division is as rich as that of Karnataka.
The earliest rulers of Bengaluru were from the Ganga Dynasty, who had their capital at Kuvalalapura - which is the present Kolar.
After the decline of the Gangas, this area came under the rule of various dynasties like the Cholas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagar Kings, Marathas, Mysuru Kings and Bijapur’s Adil Shahi Dynasty.
During the rule of the Vijayanagar Empire, Administrative chieftains known as ‘Palegara’ were appointed to administer different regions known as ‘Palepattu.’ Some of the important ‘Palepattus’ were Keladi, Chitradurga, and Chikkaballapura.
