• Nalanda is an ancient university. Infact, Buddha also visited this university. Kuamargupta, one of the Gupta kings, made contributions to a fine arts school in Nalanda.
• Few scholars who taught in this university were Nagarjuna,Dinnaga, and Dharmapal.
• One of the famous Chinese Buddhist pilgrims, named Hieun Tsang, visited this University. He provided an exhaustive account of this place. This university included stupas, chaityas, viharas, rest houses, meditation rooms and much more. Harshavardhana was a famous patron of this place.
