Diseases:
It is referred to as an abnormal condition that disturbs the normal functioning of the body.
A. Communicable disease:
- It is the one that spreads from one person to another in many ways including contact with blood and bodily fluids; breathing in an airborne virus or being bitten by an insect.
- Examples- Hepatitis A, B & C, influenza, measles, and other foodborne illness.
- It spreads through physical contact with an infected person, such as through touch (Staphylococcus).
B. Non-communicable disease:
- They are also known as chronic diseases, are of long duration, and are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioral factors.
- Examples-Cancer, Heart attack, and Diabetes.
