Open in App
Solution

The thread-like structures that develop on the decaying bread are the hyphae of bread mould. These hyphae have tiny blob-on-a-stick like structures known as sporangia which contain numerous spores. Each spore can develop into new rhizopus. This type of reproduction is known as asexual reproduction. These spores are covered by thick walls that protect them until they come in contact with another nutrient filled moist surface and begin to grow.
