3. Histones are the major constituent that helps in compacting the DNA to fit into the cell nucleus.
4. In other words, chromatin is a large molecule comprising DNA and proteins.
5. It has two forms: euchromatin and heterochromatin.
6. Euchromatin is less condensed and transcribed into mRNA.
7. Heterochromatin is highly condensed and not transcriptionally active.
