Solution: Gandhi stayed in South Africa for 21 years and fought for the rights of the non-Europeans in “South Africa. Gandhi returned to India in 1915 at the age of 46. He was respected worldwide for his protest against racial discrimination in South Africa.When he arrived in India, he was welcomed in a grand way at the Apollo port (Wellington Pier) of Mumbai. He toured India on the advice of Gopal Krishna Gokhale and after a year he established the “Satyagraha” ashram in Kocharab on 25th May 1915. He moved to the Sabarmati Ashram on the banks of the river Sabarmati after two years.
