Solution: Religious Beliefs in Ancient Tamizhagam
The main deity of the Tamils was Seyon or Murugan.
Other gods such as Sivan, Mayon (Vishnu), Indiran , Varunan and Kotravai were also worshipped during the Sangam Age
The Hero stone (natukkal) was also worshipped.
Buddhism and Jainism also co-existed during this period.
Social Division in Ancient Tamizhagam
Caste system was not as prominent as it was in northern India.
The Varuna system, an occupation-based caste system developed in South India comparatively later.
