Teachings of Prophet Muhammad

• There is only one God – Allah, and he should not be worshipped in idol form. The Prophet of God is Muhammad.
• Every Muslim should become the servant of God and recite namaz (prayer) five times a day facing the direction of the Kaaba.
• Fasting should be done during the daytime in the month of Ramzan, and zakat (charity) should be given to the poor.
• The Muslims should go on a pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) at least once in their lifetime.

Teachings of Gautama Buddha

• Attainment of knowledge should be done by practising purity in life and thoughts, which is known as dhamma.
• Desire is the cause of sorrow and one who wins over desire attains Nirvana (liberation).
• The following of Ashtanga Marga or the eightfold path leads to the attainment of Nirvana.
• His disciples were prohibited from consuming liquor, practising violence, or engaging in corrupt or dishonest practices.
• His teachings are collected in “Tripitakas”, which are Vinaya Pitaka, Sutta Pitaka, and Abhidhamma Pitaka.
