After returning from South Africa, Gandhiji started the Satyagraha movement in India.

a. The movement was launched in 191 in Champaran, Bihar.where Gandhiji inspired the peasants to fight against the oppressive plantation system.

b. The second Satyagraha movement was started in 1917 at Kheda district of Gujarat.Here the peasants failed to pay revenue due to crop failure and epidemic. They demanded relaxation of taxes.

c. The third Satyagraha movement was introduced in 1918 in Ahmedabad.The movement was organised among the cotton mill workers who were exploited.
