Section 9 of the Consumer Protection Act provides three-tier dispute redressal agencies. A 'National Consumer Dispute RedressalCommission' established by Central Government by the notification. This Court is known as “National Commission”.

And this Court is known as “State Commission”.

Who can file a complaint in a consumer court. Under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, the following can file a complaint:

(i) A consumer.

(ii) Any voluntary consumer association registered under the Companies Act, 1956 or any other law.
