  1. The major blood vessels connected to heart are the aorta, the superior vena cava, the inferior vena cava, the pulmonary artery the pulmonary veins .
  2. Aorta: It is the largest artery and supplies the oxygenated blood to the arteries.
  3. Superior vena cava: It is a major vein in the upper body it receives the blood from the upper parts of the body.
  4. Inferior vena cava: It is a major vein in the lower body it receives the blood from the lower parts of the body.
  5. Pulmonary artery :It carries the deoxygenated blood from the heart to lungs for purification.
  6. Pulmonary vein: It carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to heart after purification.
