Now, the cost of $5$ notebooks$$\begin{gathered} =5\times x \\ =5x \end{gathered}$$

the cost of $2$ books$$\begin{gathered} =2\times y \\ =2y \end{gathered}$$

So, total cost of $5$ notebooks and $2$ books$=5x+2y$

ost of $5$ notebooks and $2$ books is ₹$5x+2y$.
