Solution

Step-1: For writing an algebraic expression for the given statement:

Let a number be x.

An algebraic expression for statement "take a number. Multiply it by 2 and then add 10" =2x+10

Step-2: For finding values in expression:

By substituting values of x=1,2,3,4 and 5 in expression

For x=1,2x+10=2×1+10=2+10=12

For x=2,2x+10=2×2+10=4+10=14

For x=3,2x+10=2×3+10=6+10=16

For x=4,2x+10=2×4+10=8+10=18

For x=5,2x+10=2×5+10=10+10=20

Thus, the values of expression 2x+10 by substituting values x=1,2,3,4 and 5 is 12,14,16,18,20.

Hence, the expression for given statement is 2x+10 and the values of expression 2x+10 by substituting values x=1,2,3,4 and 5 are 12,14,16,18,20 repectively.
