Solution
Vegetative propagation:
Vegetative propagation is a type of asexual reproduction in which a new plant grows from a cutting-off or fragment of a parent plant.
Grafting, layering, cutting, stolon formation, suckering, tissue culture, etc are types of vegetative propagation.
Advantages of practising vegetative propagation:
It helps in the introduction of plants in the new areas where the germination of seed fails to produce mature plants due to changes in environmental factors and the soil.
Vegetative propagation is a cheaper, easier and more rapid method.
It produces identical individuals as similar to the parent.
