Solution

Explanation :

Photolysis

  1. It is a reaction occuring in the presence of light where oxygen evolving molecule (OEM) which is attached to chlorophyllgets activated.
  2. It contains manganese, chlorine and calcium.
  3. This energised water splits water into H, O2, e-.

Photophosphorylation

  1. It is a reaction in which ATP is synthesised from ADP through energy driven addition of phosphate.
  2. This reaction takes plave in the presence of light and so it is known as photophosphorylation reaction.

The difference between Photolysis and Photophosphorylation is as follows:

PhotolysisPhotophosphorylation
1. It is a light-driven splitting of water.1. It is light-driven phosphorylation of ADP.
2. Photolysis produces H, e, and oxygen.2. Photophosphorylation produces energy currency ATP.
