Write in single exponent form:

a3×(-b)3

Open in App
Solution

In a3×(-b)3, there are different bases but the exponents are same.

So, for any non-zero integers a,b where m is any whole number,

am×bm=abm

a3×(-b)3=(a×a×a)×[(-b)×(-b)×(-b)] (Here a=a,b=-b,m=3)

=[a×(-b)]×[a×(-b)]×[a×(-b)]

=a×-b3

=(-ab)3

Therefore, a3×(-b)3=(-ab)3.
