The wildlife (protection)Act,1972 is a comprehensive law which has been adopted by all states except J&K .It governs wildlife conservation and protection of endangered species .The act prohibits trade in rare and endangered species.
The Act has been amended several times like in 1982, 1986, 1991, 1993, 2002, 2006, 2013.
