Write the difference between male and female cones of pinus ?

Male Pine Cone

1. Male pine cones have pollen sacs ,they have scales(close knit).

2. they have spiral arrangements of tightly packed pollen bearing structures ,the lower surface of the microsporophyll's have two chambers called microsporangia in which pollen develops.

Female Pine Cone

1.Female pine cone is on main stem it may single or in pairs.

2.Female cone consists many carpels, which are arranged around the axis in a spiral manner, they have looser scale and also lie lower on a tree to make pollination easier.
