Solution

Given below are the balanced chemical equations for the preparation of:

(i) Iron (II) sulphate from iron:

Fe + H2SO4 → FeSO4 + H2

(ii) Copper sulphate from copper:

Cu + 2H2SO4 → CuSO4 + 2H2O + SO2

(iii) Lead sulphate from lead nitrate:

Pb(NO3)2 + H2SO4 → PbSO4↓ + 2HNO3

(iv) Sodium sulphate from sodium carbonate:

Na2CO3 + H2SO4 →Na2SO4 + H2O + CO2
