  • These are the following reactions that take place at cathode and anode :

At cathode :

Pb2+aq+2e-Pbl

Here, the Lead ions undergo reduction to form pure Lead.

At anode :

2Br-(aq)-2e-Br2(g)

Here, the Bromide ions undergo oxidation to form Bromine.
