(i)
The given polynomial is 4x² + 7x⁴ − x³ − x + 9.
The standard form of the polynomial is 7x⁴ − x³ + 4x² − x + 9 or 9 − x + 4x² − x³ + 7x⁴.

(ii)
The given polynomial is p + 2p³ + 10p² + 5p⁴ − 8.

The standard form of the polynomial is 5p⁴ + 2p³ + 10p² + p − 8 or −8 + p + 10p² + 2p³ + 5p⁴.
