• Matter can exist in solid, liquid and gaseous state.
• Matter can also undergo interconversion of states from one state to another.Melting is a good example.
• Solids have following properties:

1. It has fixed shape, size and volume
2. It has high inter molecular force
3. It has very less intermolecular space
4. Solid are incompressible in nature
