Any equations of the form $Ax+By+C=0$, where A and B are not zero simultaneously is a general solution of a line .
Slope intercept form : General equation is
$Ax+By+C=0$ which can be written as ,
$y=(-\frac{A}{B})x+(-\frac{c}{B})$, if $B\ne 0$
This is of the form $y=mx+c$
$\therefore$ slope of the line $=m=-\frac{A}{B}$
$=c=-\frac{C}{B}$
