The milk that comes out of the mammary glands during initial days of lactation is called colostrum. It is very important for the new-born babies. It contains several antibodies which are essential to developing resistance for the new-born babies. IgA is present in abundance in colostrum. It is the most hygienic food for the baby and it also develops a bond between mother and the child.
