Solution
Agarose gel electrophoresis is the technique which is used for the separation of the DNA fragments. This is the method which allows the separation of the DNA fragments on the basis of their size when there is an external supply of electric charge. The DNA is negatively charged due to phosphate backbone and thus will move towards the positive end. This method allows separation of the molecule on the basis of their size. Small fragments will be present near the positive end and large fragments will be present near the well (negative end).
