Open in App
Solution

1. Base

A base is a chemical compound that can donate hydroxyl ions in aqueous solutions. The bases can undergo reactions with acids to give neutralization reactions giving salt and water as the product.
2. Names of the bases

The bases with respective names are shown below.

  1. NaOH is Sodium hydroxide. It contains sodium ions (cations) and hydroxide ions (anions).
  2. KOH is Potassium hydroxide. It contains potassium ions (cations) and hydroxide ions (anions).
  3. CaOH2 is Calcium hydroxide. It contains calcium ions (cations) and hydroxide ions (anions).
