Solution

Striated muscles:

  1. Striated muscles are also known as striped or skeletal muscles.
  2. These are located in our neck, tongue, hands, feet and abdomen.
  3. They are made up of long and narrow unbranched, cylindrical muscle fibers bundled together.
  4. These multinucleate fibers have myofibril molecules in their sarcoplasm.
  5. Myofibrils are the contractile elements in these muscles.
  6. Every myofibril consists of light and dark alternating patterns.
  7. This gives these muscles their peculiar striated texture.
