20mL:1litre

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: We can write 20mL:1litre

Here units are not same.

Step 2: Convert it into same units. 1litre=1×1000mL=1000mL

Step 3: Express it as 20mL:1000mL i.e. 201000

Step 4: Find the HCF of numerator 20 and denominator 1000.

By the method of prime factorisation,

20=22×5

1000=23×53

HCF(20,1000)=22×5=20

Step 5: Divide both the numerator and denominator by HCF

20÷201000÷20

150

Therefore, 20mL:1litre can be expressed in simplest form as 1:50
