• Haemophilia is a mostly inherited genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to make blood clots, a process needed to stop bleeding.
• This results in people bleeding longer after an injury, easy bruising, and an increased risk of bleeding inside joints or the brain.
• Types of Hemophilia :

1. Hemophilia A is caused by a mutation in the gene for factor VIII, so there is a deficiency of this clotting factor.
2. Hemophilia B (also called Christmas disease) results from a deficiency of factor IX due to a mutation in the corresponding gene.
3. Hemophilia C is a rare genetic disorder caused by missing or defective blot clotting protein called Factor XI.

Treatment is by replacing the missing blood clotting factors.
