(i) The sum of two consecutive numbers is 21.
(ii) Twice a number subtracted from 10 gives 2.
(iii) One-eight of a number added to 6 gives 8.

(i)(x+1)+(x+2)=21
2x+3=21
2x=18
x=9

(ii)
2x10=2
x=12/2
x=6

(iii)x8+6=8
x=2×8=16
