given x+iy = a+ibc+id ___(1)

We Replace i by i

xiy=aibcid ____(2)

multiply equation (1) & (2)

(x+iy)(xiy)=a+ibc+ib.aibcid

(xq2+y2)=a2+b2c2+d2

Now taking square root both side

(x2+y2)2=a2+b2c2+d2
