Mark Antony's objective in uttering this rousing speech was to incense the assembled gathering, make them turn against the conspirators and seek to avenge Caesar's death. He exhorts the mob to come alive, to be prepared to hear Caesar's will which will prove to them that killing Caesar was an unjust deed and worthy of strict punishment.
