  • Carbon tetrachloride and water form an immiscible liquid of mixture.

  • For immiscible liquids, we can use a separating funnel to separate the liquids.
  • Since carbon tetrachloride is denser than water, it forms lower layer, and water forms the upper layer.
  • When the stopper is opened, the lower layer can be collected in a beaker and the upper layer remains within the funnel.

Therefore, for a mixture of carbon teterchloride and water, we can use a separating funnel to separate the individual liquids.
