You climb into your seat at the bottom of a Ferris wheel which then starts from rest and has uniform angular acceleration of 2πrad/s2. The Ferris wheel has radius 3.6 m. just as you reach the top the link of your seat breaks? What speed do you hit me ground with?

At the top , let its speed is u and angular speed is ω.

ω2=2αθ=2×2π×π=4

ω=2rad/s

u=ωR=2R

From conservation of mechanical energy during falling-

12mv2=12mu2+mgh

v2=u2+2g(2R) height it falls is equal to its diameter and hence h=2R

v=u2+4gR=4R2+4gR=4×3.62+4×10×3.6

v=14m/s
