Step 2: Determine the force required to break the wire of the same material.

Since both wires have the same length and the same material F1A1 and F2A2
F1F2=A1A2
Now, substitute A1=πr12and A2=πr22in the above equation,
F1F2=πr12πr22=r12r22

Substituting for r2=2r1(As given in the question)

F1r12=F2r22F1r12=F2(2r1)220r12=F2(4r12)
