Solution

Dialysis:

  1. Dialysis is the procedure of filtering blood using an artificial kidney on a regular basis.
  2. A kidney may filter 100-150 quarts of blood each day.
  3. Waste builds up in the bloodstream when the kidneys aren't performing properly.
  4. This can result in a coma or perhaps death.
  5. Blood waste is filtered by membranes and transferred to the dialysate fluid.
  6. The second needle is used to reintroduce the filtered blood into our body once the used dialysate fluid has been pushed out of the dialyzer.

Importance:

  1. When our kidneys fail, dialysis maintains our body's equilibrium by eliminating waste, salt, and excess water to stop them from accumulating in the body, keeping our blood's concentration of specific molecules, such as potassium, sodium, and bicarbonate, at a healthy level aiding in blood pressure management.
  2. Dialysis is utilised to aid in the recovery of the patient.
  3. When the kidneys fail to perform their job, dialysis or other therapies are used.
